From Melbourne to Sarhangh

The path that moved from a Melbourne PhD offer to restoring and operating a historic palace in Isfahan.
The day I received my PhD acceptance from Melbourne, my next chapter looked clear. I had worked for years to reach that point, and everything was ready for departure. Then I stood in front of a place that quietly changed my direction: Sarhangh Bokhradi Palace, a historic house in Isfahan that was alive with history and close to collapse. Choosing was not simple. I had to decide between a predictable academic future and a high-risk restoration journey at home. The palace project became more than architecture; it became a real-world school of leadership, hospitality, team-building, and daily decision-making. Every operational challenge taught me lessons no classroom could deliver with the same depth. That experience shaped my core conviction: successful hospitality cannot run on taste and sales alone; it grows through systems, discipline, and human-centered execution. "From Melbourne to Sarhangh" is not just a geographic move. It is a story of choosing meaningful work over the expected path, and discovering where real impact begins.
